MI is used across the team to demonstrate adherence to KPI’s and budget. MI can be used to note down data trends. Data is also required to make informed decisions. MI can help with problem solving and identifying the root cause of issues experienced. For example, we were informed by a vendor that several invoices had not been paid. Our systems advised that we had done all we had but when we cross referenced our information with a third party, we were able to easily identify the sticking point, resolve the issue for the client and help improve the processes of the third party. Thanks to implementing various technologies and improving reporting, we have reliable MI on external and internal spend, budget conformance, internal resource capacity, matter duration, invoice payment dates and anomalies. Lawyers timesheets show capacity per business unit and we can compare demand to actual consumption. Able to separate MI by Bus Unit, lawyer, firm, matter etc.
